Ministries

Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing."

[John 15:5]

Please contact the Parish office on 020 8449 1961 if you would like further details or if you are interested in participating in one of these important ministries:

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION: This group of people is commissioned to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass, and in ministering to the sick by taking Holy Communion to them on a regular basis.

ALTAR SERVERS: Any person who has received First Communion is able to be an Altar Server. A rota is in operation for this important work of assisting the Priest at Mass. The Senior Server organises and trains the servers. Please approach Father James if you would like to become a Server.

MUSIC: We welcome people to join us and enhance the Liturgy. We have musicians at 9:30 Mass, and a choir at 11.00 Mass. Musicians and singers are always welcome.

READERS: We are always happy to hear from people who are willing to read at Mass. A rota means that each person is called on about once a month and training is organised where required.

OFFERTORY PROCESSION: Members of the congregation take up the gifts at the offertory of the Mass.

COLLECTORS: Members of the congregation are asked to help with the collection at Masses.

CHURCH CLEANERS and FLOWER ARRANGERS: We are always looking for people to support with the cleaning of the church or help with arranging the flowers.

MUSIC and CHOIR: We are looking for additional musicians to help with the 9:30am mass and also singers who would love to be involved in our choir at 11am mass.

REPOSITORY: The repository is open after each Mass at the weekends. There is a full range of Mass cards, religious objects, birthday cards, Missals, etc., all available at very reasonable cost.

TRANSPORT TO MASS: We occasionally have requests for lifts to Mass either weekly or just on an odd occasion. Someone to co-ordinate this scheme is needed.

NEWSLETTER: A weekly newsletter is issued in the parish. The deadline for information is Thursday each week. Please do take one home with you and read it.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY: We also have a liturgy of the Word as part of the 9.30 Mass every second Sunday. Please see the weekly newsletter for details. The Sunday Gospel is the basis of the week’s instruction, and this is taken from a children’s Bible.

CATECHISTS: Our catechists work in teams to prepare the children for the various sacraments. First Communion preparation, First Reconciliation (Confession),Parents of babies to be baptised, Confirmation programmes all need additional catechists. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to help.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION: Please contact the Parish Office for more information. Please note that 6 months notice should be given of a forthcoming marriage.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults): This is a programme for adults who are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church. If you wish to find out more about joining the Catholic Church, or you are practising Catholic who may have missed out on the Sacraments (eg. Confirmation) or just want to explore a bit deeper what we believe and how this changes our lives, please contact Harold Williams, RCIA Catechist on 0208 440 6978.

YOUTH CLUB HELPERS and SOCIAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS: We are always looking for people to support us with our Youth Club and Social Committee. Please visit their pages on our website to find out more and information on how to get in touch:
